... the Last Supper. His painting has a vertical table, instead of horizontal which invites the viewer to sit down and join the meal. No matter where you stand in the church, it feels like Jesus is looking straight at you. Another interesting feature is this depiction shows women at the table. There is even 1 woman nursing her infant which symbolizes the circle of life.

... to Genoa and through the Appenine mountains following the coast with the Med on our right hand side eventually turning inland to arrive at Lucca about 6pm. Total distance door to door, about 1025 miles.

The last few days have been spent settling in, finding our way around the area and generally winding down. All very relaxing so far.

Set off and first stop Pisa. Had lunch and wondered around and Amy did the obligatory push pose on Pisa. Bought nana a fridge magnet and us a bottle opener while smashing a snow globe in the process. ... So we drove around & around until we found a gorgeous family owned vino & olivo grove. He spoke no English but with our little italian we had a great time! He was adorable!
