It all seemed so simple.

We had booked tickets on the internet travelling in style from Stresa to Milan, Milan to Florence and then by local train to Lucca. What could possibly go wrong?

Shopping in a foreign country where one does not know the language is interesting. It took us 20 minutes to identify and purchase laundry soap. Thank goodness one brand though to put pictures on their ...

... secret ingredient of the eggplant parmagiana was cocoa. The aroma was something to savor as it was bought to the table. Desert was chocolate salami, which was really a chocolate and biscotti roll. It was so rich but delicious and of course that has to be eaten with desert wine. So sweet but perfect. After the ricotta and pear tart I had for lunch, I can assure you, I am looking more and more like the little mozzarella ball…… and loving that ...
