Spotted a hot air balloon from the front of the Villa. Decided to drive the < 20 km to Pisa. Nice drive along the Tuscan countryside with narrow roads in a LH drive vehicle on the RH side of the road! Had a look at the Tower & purchased tickets to climb it. That was fun! Not as tall as I thought it would be. Also had a look through the Duomo - Cathedral, Pisa. Not as impressive as the Bascilica at Lyon.Dropped into our favourite local supermarket for supplies & back to Villa ...

Popped across the road to our local bar for an aperitif. We'd observed the locals in and out, a popular custom. In fact, the locals go in and out all day, starting with their morning expresso and stopping on the way home for an aperitif and antipasti. For us, one beer, one red wine, 2 prosecco and antipasti, all for €8.

Today we piled into the cars and drove to Lucca which is about a half hours drive away. Its a small walled town. We parked outside the town and walked in.
