... I had hoped for and more? Definitely yes. It was so amazing to finally see it with my own eyes after wishing for it for so many years. We docked and headed through the square for our date with the Italian Restaurant for a scrumptious 4 course meal! Yum!!! With bellies full we were given free time to stroll around and Kate and I made the most of it. I couldn't quite believe I was in Venice. What a magical way to celebrate my 36th Birthday. On Friday, Tanner and I spent the day visiting Venice. We got to the city by train around 8:30am which was perfect since it wasn't too hot and the tourists weren't flocking the streets yet. We made our way down the main tourist street and since it was early and there were no tourists around yet, majority of the shops were still closed. ... wrong boat (it didn't stop at enough stops) so got off after a couple of stops to walk back, and found a really charming restaurant away from the crowds where we enjoyed a delicious lunch of tuna salad, pizza and an amazing lemon meringue/ice cream cake dessert that was like nothing I have ever experienced! (We counted that as our gelatto for the day.)
