But I think versailles would've been more beautiful in summer, the bernese oberland would be more enjoyable because you could do more hikes, more famous cathedrals would be visible and not behind tarps and scaffolding. So I really can't say which is better. I will have to go again in the peak season and do a thorough comparison. Could you fund this experiment?

... his parachute. He missed us by a few feet and that was it!!

Of course we got chatting to this chap who tells us he simply runs for the edge of the cliff and simply jumps as far off as possible. He races through the air freestyle for about 7 seconds then opens his parachute and lands. The whole process takes about 15seconds. To me it just seems a lot of hard work for only 15seconds of fun!!

As we walk on along the river bank towards Lauterbrunnen we keep having a joke about ...

... sorry for the people hungover when they had to go skydiving at 8am ha-ha. I can't explain the feeling of being there. I was speechless for the whole time. We were surrounded by massive mountains with green grass and snow topping them, trees, waterfalls, blue skies, cute houses, cows and sheep, no traffic. Just amazing.

After brekkie on Friday we caught a train up the Swiss Alps to Jungfrau (the top of Europe). This was an an amazing day trip. The train took a couple of hours but ...

... Eigernordwand chair to the Wixi but mum liked the second half of the run so we did it again by going up the Fallboden chair and then up the Wixi and caught up with Dad and Kat. We then put JJ on a train and skied down to Wengen. The top of the Lauberhorn was shut for the downhill race on the 17th to the 19th Jan but we met the Lauberhorn below the top. There is a major lift station at Winteregg but people seem to stay in Murren where there are hotels, shops, condos, etc. Murren is both old and new. We saw the old town with its traditional architecture, wood-burning heating units, and neat vegetable gardens, as well as the new town with solar panels and modern design.
