Star-shaped fortress in granite landscape
The route gets less hilly after Guarda. Landscape is changing as-well. Many big rounded granite blocks are scattered around. We have two parts of the route this day which are displayed online but not in the paper maps. We risk it and profit from a brand new tarmac road.

... Our road is parallel to the motorway and is partially quite crowded.
In Guarda we encounter for the first time that hotel rooms are taken. We are successful at the third try ("Beira Serra", a quite run-down place, shower on the floor).
We enjoy the visit in a brand-new cinema (English with subtitles) in the Guarda shopping centre. We are the only visitors to this film.
