... are. The distilleries were surprisingly accessible, with all of them offering tours of the caves and tastings, for a fee of course. We were only able to visit a couple (Porto seems to close for 2 hours during lunch) before catching our evening flight out, but we are glad to have tried some new and very interesting kinds of port. Thank you Portugal, we will be back to see more.

Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal europapart123... city. Narrow streets tumbling down to the river with washing hanging from the windows. Lots of bridges, trams and traffic. One side of the river was the centre for the production of port. We went to one of them and sampled some of the product.

We stayed about 100 meters from the sea. Miles and miles and miles of golden sand and boardwalks. We did a lot of walking and a lot of cycling. Beautiful weather. We then moved onto Aveiro further down the coast.
Porto, Porto, Portugal mikeandsuecuff... without the normal care and as we were going along we suddenly realized that the caravan had become detached. Fortunately the breakaway cable had worked. We reversed and reattached her, no harm having been done. We then had to do a 50 mile detour to get to the camp site. We spoke to other camper and caravaners who had had great ...

Long story short we were more then enthusiastic to get on the road in the morning to leave Porto behind

Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal donwenGuess this is the wind down point after two months on the road before I headed back to Ye Olde London town which is probably why I haven't much to report. With a little over a week in Portugal I doubt I did the country justice and only touched the surface. I hit the little hostel which was new and a little inexperienced at it as they had quality ...
Porto, Northern Portugal, Portugal ddoumani... they only opened 1 week ago) and so they are still setting up and organising things. My room is huge! There are 2 bunks in the room (with 2 more in pieces in the corner) and it has an ensuite bathroom. This too is huge but the shower itself is so tiny (literally about 1m x 1m)! It's impossible to have a shower without flooding the floor as the lip of the shower is only 5cm high and the curtain keeps going outside the lip. There is space for ...
