We caught a train through the Algarve and got off two stops after tavira. This town was quite small and less touristed. You could tell by the lack of pathways, and no one was trying to sell us anything. It was a perfect sunny day and only a little windy. We checked into a campsite near the station, set up our tent, locked our packs in the tent then headed out to explore. It was interesting to find geraniums growing everywhere, mostly cultivated ones, but some seemed wild, as well. We found jade plants in people’s gardens, a bird bath, and bird houses, as well. One home built a green barrier around a newly planted avocado plant to protect it from the sun, we guessed. That same home had a big enclosed patch of strawberry plants.
