      ... It is quite run down in places with some beautiful old buildings standing empty. We have been buying perfect avocados, huge plums, fresh salad etc at the market. The market man obviously thought that my salad was not going to be any good because he insisted on putting an onion and a bunch of coriander in the bag. Even when I held my nose to indicate that I really don't like coriander he just ignored me. Had to give the coriander to the French neighbours.

      ... sunshine and beach time. We spent quality time with Hugo (a guide/hostel manager) as we, again, were the only ones in the hostel. He took us on a cave hunt/cliff walk, led us to our coveted hole in the wall breakfast joint, gave us a glimpse into his new "urban" tour of the street art and history of Lagos and capped it all off with a spectacular day of kayaking in and around the cliffs and caves of Lagos. Definitely one of the highlights of my whole life! ...

      ... of others. There seems to be a very strong community spirit. We found out the dancing started at 10.30pm, and its a bit far for us folks and its cold out there. We cycled down to the beach which is not very far. It looks glorious too, but the water is too cold to swim in.
