... our beloved Vinho Verde (Euro 1.39 a bottle) Mmmmm.... It was off to bed, to awake to another wet day. Discussions over breakfast (boiled eggs perfectly done if you please) (Lymºs writing this by the way....Iºm just typing...) led to us both deciding it was time to break camp and head to the Algarve with all haste, we were beginning to believe that the sun was an urban myth...
... without the normal care and as we were going along we suddenly realized that the caravan had become detached. Fortunately the breakaway cable had worked. We reversed and reattached her, no harm having been done. We then had to do a 50 mile detour to get to the camp site. We spoke to other camper and caravaners who had had great ...
Póvoa de Varzim, Porto, Portugal wrklein... we were spoilt for choice. We chose Calem, a brand not much known in Britain, but one of the oldest, and Sandemans, one of the best known. Chalk and cheese in their presentation, but basically the same principal. Sandemans was a bit gimmicky, with the guides dressed up in the Sandeman outfit (a Spanish Sombrero and a Portuguese students' black cape). I was particularly looking forward to being shown round by an ...
Caminha, Northern Portugal, Portugal oldagetraveller... is where people from Spain travel to buy towels (not sure why but they did have lots of towels for sale) and Em & Eric did get a set just to follow the tradition. Tui was a much nicer place and the cathedral was lovely. On the way home we stopped in Baiona an old port city with a cool old fort. We took the walk along the top of the walls (a 3 km walk).

Barcelos, Northern Portugal, Portugal amidlifecrisisSo on thursday we came back to braga, again with another terrifying bus drive as we could see the drops in the light, Portugese drivers seem to drive in an invisible middle lane! However it did give some spectacular views. Once in Braga we found a room which is very nice and we got it at a big discount so even better. It is now draped with our wet clothes! Today we have ...
Braga, Portugal tammyjoeWe decided to trust weather forecasts on the web - no rain and 18º C - and travel light luggage. We left Braga under a bright blue sky and 30º C. First, we took Iberia flight to Madrid and, 4 hours later, another flight to Berlin - Tegel Airport.
Braga, Portugal pedeu... I was there 9 years ago we walked for 10-15 minutes where there is a small river with small rapids. You can lay on large boulders and/or jump into the water. Anyway, after eating a few of us walked back there...I remember everything as though it was yesterday...check out some of the pic´s...one is a pic of a rock we jumped off of 9 years ago. After awhile David and I left and went to the border of Spain ...
