Residencial Do Cardal Pombal

Arrived after a short uneventful journey. Campsite similar. Weather changeable.

Tourist sites do not always live up to the flowery language used in the brochures eg. "Musicological Nucleus of the Salt" turned out to be a Musee de Sel. We did not go.

The local beauty spots, like every where else, that we did go to were covered with ingrained litter.
We are moving on tomorrow.

Before we left the restaurant, several Sicilians tourists wanna take pictures with us. They didn't speak any English... and I was trying to ask "di dove sei".... well they didn't reply either. Anyway, after some confusion we found that they were from Sicily and we took pictures together. One old man said "Buon Viaggio" to us. Before I left, I said "Ciao Ciao, Buon Viaggio!"

Honestly if I wanted fifty kids running around screaming and generally acting like they own the place then I'll go to a MacDonald's.

The convent, by the way, is spectacular, even with little monsters running around.

... town’s population are students. Our room had a good view of the University on top of the hill. We wandered out by the riverside for the Indian restaurant only to find it closed. Back at the hotel, the owner & his girlfriend helped us prepare some soup & upma in the kitchen. After this great dinner & a long 500 km journey behind us, we retired to our bed.

I'm in Portugal now. Last I wrote was in Toledo, I think...I took a night train to Lisbon, where I stayed for one night. It's nice, as far as big cities go, but it's a big city. It's very diverse and the people are real laid back.
