A quiet day at our town today... Wandered to the town/village at the sea front and had a wander and coffee. Big purchase... A new pair of jandals. Havianas and cheaper than in NZ so grabbed a pair.... Don't suppose I will have much call for them for few months. Bill enjoyed a very extensive port shop ... Very big for size of town... Two floors. ... person with airbnb didn't show!!! Finally after a call to their help line managed to rally someone up to let us in. Phew!!! Not sure what plan B was. Beautiful spot .... Apartment ok very cosy but a lovely view, close to bay and everything close. The beach has escalators up and down to get from the look out to the beach. Arrive Gatwick at 14.50 twenty minutes before Mo. Plane takes off on time at 17.10 arrive Faro 19.45 bus into town at 20.35. Hotel Sol Algarve good with lovely courtyard for breakfast, neighbourhood a bit run down though. Bit of a disaster with dinner, went to authentic Portugese local restaurant Adega Nova but didn't understand the menu and I land up with pigs liver. Managed to eat ...

... the economy in Portugal - it is hard for many people,especially people under the age of thirty. The driver told Deb that he lives in a three-bedroom apartment with his wife and family and they pay €350.00/month.
