... sight and we were sure glad we'd not been a few minutes earlier and encountered them on the path. We continued on before reaching the path heading down past the Cascadas de La Lirre I'd partially viewed yesterday and down we started over the rugged though stepped slope. There were a few places where a view of one section of the tumbling falls was possible and it was amazing to see and hear the roaring waters heading down the steep slopes. ... de naranja zuma (aka orange juice), incredibly strong and thick coffee and a plate with a dry piece of lukewarm toasted bun and something akin to a mix of croissant and doughnut, plus servings of butter and jam. Then there was a very fast long descent, initially through the alpine and then through the forest to the valley on mainly good road but with some tight hairpins. We found out later that Bevan, one of our team, and in fact probably the tastest rider, had a major crash here when he went too fast into a bend and literally did somersaults on his bike. Apart from wrecking his ...
