We had a more chilled out day on friday before setting off on Saturday on our first bike ride of the trip in search of the Col d’Aspin, one of the Category 1 Tour de France climbs from 2012. Fortunately it was closed and we were treated to a magnificent ride over the pass on the N20 and into Spain. Swung through the enclave of Llivia and then continued onto one of our favourite roads from 2005, the N152. The group met at the Harley Davidson sales room on the outskirts of Toulouse. Coffee and croissants provided to set us up for the day ahead. Out of Toulouse south bound on the motorway and then through the Pyrenees on the D929. Stopped for lunch on the French side and then down into the warmer air for our stop at the Monasterio de Boltana.
