Hi all Sorry for the delay in posting this blog time has flown by. We left Antibes after a very happy time exploring the French Riviera and headed into the mountains again first stop was Grasse on a hill top the town is famous for its perfume manufacturing, as they don't do one like Castrol R40 it was a drive through. When we were in Bavaria Irene recommended the Route Napoleon as our way through the French Southern Alps. What a fantastic road climbing over mountains, dropping into valleys an...

... built in the 1st or 2nd Century and held 20,000. It was used for chariot races and gladiator fights and is still in use today during the bullfighting season. Very cool! Forgot to take a photo unfortunately.
24th
Up early to make use of free Wifi - that is Kim watched the sunrise while sitting outside a closed café and scabbing their Wifi! We then we hightailed it out of Arles and towards Spain.
... rain finally stopped after nearly a week so we were able to enjoy some out of Scooby time!
Saturday 7 Nov
Forecasted for rain today but it held off until late afternoon which gave me time to replace the washer in the gear box and for Kim to go for a run, which she was hankering for as she had been getting a little cabin fever of late due to the rain and lack of exercise/time outside!
... and Rhone. Built in 90 AD it’s hard to imagine all the events that have taken place in this building. Walking around and around, I tried to imagine it filled with 20 000 screaming fans as gladiators ripped apart animals, but it was hard. From Medieval times to the 1830’s, it was bricked up and used as a fortified city. 212 housed and 2 churches made their home ...
Arles, Provence, France 2totango... the Rhone. Narrow streets hung with lamps and strung with ivy still hold the same charm. All homes decorated with ancient shutters and worn doorways. How could one not want to paint?
Now I understand, what you tried to say to me
And how you suffered for your sanity
And how you tried to set them free.
They would not listen, they ...
... the proprietor and my friend misunderstood what he said about our reservations. She corrected him and he got all snooty on her and told her something like, "Well if that´s the way you want to talk then we can do it that way" and proceeded to give her some attitude. We finally went to our room and I did my best to control my laughing at him. It was pretty ridiculous for a mere misunderstanding.

... contraption that apparently "shakes the vines enough to remove the ripe grapes without affecting the leaves or unripened grapes"). If Jie was half way there from the tasting, the bottle we took home finished her off.
Spent thursday morning in the Nice flower market (not as rubbish as it sounds - it's mostly food) and generally exploring the old town in the glorious sun before sitting on the beach throwing stones in the sea and seeing who ...
Avignon, Provence, France erikapessoaWe used Avignon as the jumping off point for a journey through the Provence wine region. This whole area was as beautiful as everyone had told us. We rented a car for 1 day and drove through Chateauneuf du Pape. It was a pretty great day aside from having to visit a dentist for Joel. We won't go into any detail but will say that despite the language barrier the good doctor took great care of his surprise ...
