... 1 night in Noyers, 2 hours drive then we have 3 nights in Reims (Champagne area). It was pretty good but the rain meant day 1's drive was more like 5 hours....but the hotel in La Mure was fab. Only 2 or 3 stars (depending what you read) but good internet, comfy bed and sensational shower. After speaking to some Aussies - Georgie convinced Tony and I to take a 45km ride to Col du Galibier (elevation 2600m). What we failed to realise was that it was a total of 98 round trip with 45km of climbing, through tunnels you could not see your hand in front of you face (at times). Our last full day in Alpe d'Huez is another belter. Awoke at 7am to see the sun streaming in through the window. Not a hint of a cloud anywhere....just the way I like it, home or away.
