... savoury crepes. Every second restaurant specialises in them and they all serve cider in tea cups as the preferred accompaniment.
Our bigger decision was made earlier; we will go to Jersey then return to stay in the same hotel in St Malo instead of going to Quimper further to the west of Brittany. We've decided that we would like to explore the surrounding area, plus we will cut out 8 hrs of train travel there and to Paris.

... ways a satnav can take you so I re-jigged it for 'shortest route'.
For once Garmin did itself proud, the roads were dry now it although it was cloudy, and we had some brilliant biking roads.
The only down side to picking 'shortest' is Garmin route planners will take you through some f**ker's front room if they could get away with it. So there was the occasional farm track and log pile but overall ...

Last thing we wanted was to be last off the boat and get turned over by French customs.

... as the caisse didn't open for the gas until 2:30. Next place on the list was listed on as Genets, which was a place that Mike had wanted to come to for some reason. We travelled down mostly single carriageway roads and hoped that we'd not meet anything coming the other way. Fortunately, we didn't meet anything bigger than a car! I balked at the lane we were supposed to travel down to get to the car park - a car, yes, but not our Rapido. ...

... t going to stay right in the city. Instead we were staying in nearby Versailles and planned to catch the train into town. The drive to Paris was mostly free of drama apart from when we thought we were going to run out of petrol because we couldn't find a service station.
