Since we departed the Riviera, I've been a little busy driving and so I skipped a blog yesterday. Sunday morning we bade farewell to Marg and Boris as they headed to Italy and we started our slow journey to Paris. It was as if the weather gods of Juan les Pins knew we were leaving and they shed a tear too (more like a tropical downpour). After speaking to some Aussies - Georgie convinced Tony and I to take a 45km ride to Col du Galibier (elevation 2600m). Ratha won the sprint to confirm the green, Mark P still in ...

... potato mash with vanilla beans......works for me.
So far this trip this joint is right up there with "Steak" in Edinburgh for the best grub. "Steak" is still ahead for best total eating experience.

Back at our hotel for a night cap, our bar waiter indulged us with super large slugs of Baileys for Sue and Genepi pour moi....topped off a great day.

    Village Notre Dame

A travel blog entry by markrathmell on Jul 16, 2014

Today we had another climb planned up to Village Notre Dame which is on the opposite side of the valley from alpe d'heuz. The ride up to the Notre dame is just as impressive as the cliff cut road that we rode on from the back of the Sereene Climb. The views were spectacular and the feeling of exposure was real. The cliffs from the road fall away about ...
