... afternoon. All went well until a loud crack on P&Ps tandem signalled a broken spoke and buckled wheel. Fortunately we were near Pornic which has a Decathlon. Quite an eventful day. We woke to pouring rain (actually it had been pouring most of the night). Eventually we decided to get dressed as the rain eased, packed up except for breakfast things. More rain prevented us eating outside so we were back in tents to eat. By 9.30 we had packed wet tents and sodden flysheets and were away. Gradually the sky improved and we were in sun. ... here is absurd. So my first responsibility of the day is to open my (real) shutters on my window. Then it is downstairs to have breakfast. In French the word for "breakfast" is "petit déjeuner" which is no lie. The serving size for breakfast is much smaller than in America. However the quality is amazing.
