The day started well. Up at 6 and at the station by 7.25 - 20 minutes before the train was due. The station wasn't manned (and there were no toilets). By 10 to 8 we were getting worried about the next connection. Then a man came around the corner, gesturing us to follow him. The train was replaced by a bus - which took a lot longer (and didn't have a toilet).

Some lovely scenery on the 55 minute bus trip ...

... beach for our pre-dinner drinks. Most pleasant! Back to the house to cook and eat the dinner with good friends and great conversation. Although tonight's conversation centred around Col's synopsis of the latest Australian budget which caused lots of booing from those around the table. Bring on the Double Dissolution was the concensis! Then to pack for our drive to Bordeaux and flight to Malaga ...

... of the Gironde River (the biggest of Europe) it is famous for its XII roman church built on a cliff. The town itself was built in 1284 by Edward 1st of England who reigned during this period in this part of France. A visit to the church and a wander around the town completed our visit. Back home for a leisurely afternoon involving a walk along the beach in front of our house. ...

Westpac had put a block on it because one of the hotels we stayed at had added $1.84 from a U.S. site that they must have been associated with and my card want 'registered' to be used in the U.S.! Left our lovely B&B today and headed north west towards the coast of France to meet up again with our friends Jan, Garry and Beverly. Homer (our GPS guide) took us along very small country roads which while it was very picturesque they were very narrow and it became quite frustrating. Will have to check the settings on it ...
