PS a very scary night. We were all awoken by a howling creature and we were so scared until it went away!! So after a disturbed night we woke to clear skies, very cold air and a clear sky. We got away early -8.45 to take a advantage of the forecast good weather. With 30 miles under our belts by lunch time we had crossed the last of the Marais. ... By lunchtime we had managed to avoid the heavy downpours but gave up our preferred stop overlooking the sun soaked beach for a garden centre entrance to escape the storm force winds. We had decided to push on towards Sable d'Olonne until torrential rain and winds forced us to shelter in a bus garage to re-group.
