... of the villagers. A market was in progress, fish, meat and plenty of veges. Strangely there were two permanent butcher shops within 25 m of the market which also had a butcher. The vegetable stalls had some strange looking veges for sale. We noticed in these small towns shops specialising in goods such as cellphones, jewellery and toy shops for very small populations. Perhaps they are subsidised?

Needless to say, even the boneheads at Garmin can't differentiate the standard of one D road to another, neither can I. It could be brilliant or a complete patchwork quilt, it's a lottery.

The day was dull and overcast but dry.

Me and Will set off, bright and early, about 12.30pm, grabbed an N road out of Nantes and then hit the D roads.
Absolutely brilliant but we had some mileage to do.....

... br> The satnav said 5 miles to the hotel in the town centre. The road was perfectly straight and there was traffic as far as the eye could see moving at snail's pace. No choice but to tough it out.
It was evident early doors that there were a lot of roundabouts. I had nothing better to do so I thought I would count them as far as the hotel.
It took us 45 minutes to do 5 miles and there were 35 ******* roundabouts!!

... problem in the electrical circuit, I figured that I could ride on the map as well. This is not without danger though. As I was riding in these tiny, winding roads along the Brittanie coastline, I often needed to check the map on top of my tank to head in the right direction. All of a sudden I was in this really nasty turn which I realised too late to take it properly. ...

... be leaving tomorrow. Bit rough round the edges for us. Can't wait to get back to the countryside Had a fab meal tonight. Guess What I ate? Only lobster! I can't believe I finally ate it. And,,,I loved it. Mind, it was cooked by the best chef in France. So. Why not. Sweet end to the day Tomorrow. Driving south to La Rochelle and Rockport. The latter is our b&b.
