    ... with lovely iron work and old lights and evidence of meandering paths and gardens. He loves this kind of thing - seeing how it would have been. Along with this and the mechanics of the funicular he was in 7th heaven looking at it all and snapping some photos along the way.

    Back down and we wandered around Como looking at the many old billboard photos of the town from the late 1800's, early 1900's. And once again we loved seeing these ...

    ... walked toward the funicular (aka very steep train driven by massive cables up a very steep hill - see video) and on our way chose a pasta Restuarant to lunch at.....Yum. After lunch we boarded the Funicular much to Maureen's distress, but being a good sport we all boarded although I am not sure Maureen actually looked up. More magnificent views to behold almost too much to take ...

    Back in the village we bought our pin and sat down about 1pm for lunch. We expected it to be very expensive up here hut it was a good price and the food was nice.

    Been very busy last couple of days - just had time to catch up and I am a few days behind.     ... drove up to Villa Carlotta a beautiful old house with stunning gardens overlooking the lake. We couldn't find anywhere to park and with the disappointment of not bumping into George Clooney we decided to turn around and head to Verbania (our overnight stay).

    As we re-approached the vintage cars, they all started pulling away and driving off in a pack. Jess tried desperately to catch up and join in but they were far too cool for us and Mini Phil.
