It's a cool wet morning, just like home. I get the bike out of the ballroom and head off fully suited into the mountains. I manage to get onto the free roads again, I must be getting the hang of it.<br> Once again there are whisps of white clouds drifting above and below, and really high black ones dropping on me! This is probably the best road so far (Mex 190) to Santa Domingo Tehauntepec, really good surface well generally ...

Zanatepec, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico kunzandwanner... entailed getting there by small local bus and the guide only spoke spanish....suprising really as we were in Mexico ! so had to listen hard and use all of our vast vocabulary to understand....the village had a market with an amazing old 16th century church...you would hardly recognise it as christian and catholic, more like pagan as we saw chickens sacrificed and no furniture at all, the floor was covered in pine needles and burning ...
San cristobal de la casas, Mexico mills01480... If you pay this much attention to anything you soon see a pattern emerging. They are extremely difficult to see if they are not marked. I soon realized that they are often camouflaged by the Topas Joker! They are always in the shade! Thinking way too much about the Topas, you discover that the reason they are in the shade has a direct correlation to the folks who have to hand build them in the heat of the day!
Arriaga, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico jdswedOn to Puerto Arista, a relative metropolis, plenty of shops, some of them even open! Out of high season seaside towns tend to only fully open at weekends when the city dwelling Mexican hordes descend. Found a nice little place near a smelly lagoon and not far from the beach, but sadly, as often happens in Mexico, the workers started banging around at 6am - because it´s really hot later, they start work early but with no concern for their sleeping clients.
Puerto Arista, Chiapas, Mexico ccchrissieJust a stop over in this small town, where a Saturday night is spent drinking until falling asleep in the streets. It was quite funny arriving there so late, everyone just coming to us so drunk and talking to us and then after one hour seeing them sleeping outside. This time has not much apart from good hot dogs, we went to eat them at a stand where they were showing a Mexican boxing game, and i had to stasy the whole 11 rounds and cheer up with the locals...
Arriaga, Central Mexico and Gulf Coast, Mexico luciecox... my very first Presidente though so at least that's something. Somehow got on to Casa Nikki, at first a bit quiet but soon enough the place was really happening and I got some cucarachas so I was totally happening as well. All these people I know started dropping in and I was having lots of fun, then on top of it all My Guy shows up and I was actually thrilled to see him. We hung out for a while just having fun, but went back to his place more or ...
Guadeloupe, Guadeloupe tini1985... with some nice looking american women and headed to the other side of town (2 minutes walk that is). At Yacht everything was just as normal, we laughed and tried to speak Serb with Vanja, went inside, said hi to all the bartenders, had some guy get us champagne, Philippe got us some more champagne. Then Mexican kids from Thursday show up, recognize me and we get hooked up with all kinds of **** from them. We hang out outside with Ganael, I get all these free drinks ...
Guadeloupe, Guadeloupe tini1985... so I just walked it all the way up the hill. Soon enough a car stopped asking me if I was looking for a lift. I told the guy I actually had no idea where I was going and so he offered to show me around the island. Which he did, Max, playing Wyclef Jean on the stereo and laughing every 2 seconds. He seems like a nice guy, I don't think we have too much in common though. Even so, I am very greatful he stopped I had a good time and it was great ...
