Shopping and eating Venice Style

... to meet a local guide for a tour of the back streets on Venice. Mum and I found this very interesting. The guide took us to much quiter areas of the city where the locals live and she talked about how the locals manage living in such a unique place. She then took us through St Marks basilica which was stunning. It is designed in the shape of a Greek cross. The floor is made of marble and covered ...

No matter, ploughed on and it wasn't long before I spied a sign pointing to Rialto. Took a short stroll over the rialto bridge and found the Vaporetto stop. As I was ...

... leaving, we bought tickets for a performance of Vivaldi's Four Seasons later that night.

As we headed toward San Marco, a gallery beckoned. Inside were the peculiar rotund paintings and sculptures of Botero and a fascinating exhibit of Mikhail Baryshnikov's dance photography.

I'd been looking forward to the Secret Itineraries Tour of the Doge's Palace for weeks. The exquisite pink palace that sits on the banks of the lagoon ...
