All in all this was one of the most challenging and important assignment for the fledgling, but pacesetting Ernesto Tours (ET).

It went a bit like this.

    July 31st

John and Sue fly to Verona from Belfast and stay one night at 37 Stradone Porta Palio (the 'mini Jesus')

    August 1st

Ernesto and Maureena (have I mentioned those names ...

An epic love story - Verona.

... all the warm and fuzzy but this place isn't cheesy. Romantic and charming is how the Italian people are. At least if your wanting to visit Venice, do yourself a favour, stay in Verona. seen – even better than Les Miserables in London. The singing was beautiful –
especially Carmen. The way they staged the story was exciting with something
happening all the time. It certainly was unforgettable. The dancing (Spanish) was also excellent. Didn’t get home to bed until 2 am – bit late for Craig and Lina but we enjoyed
every minute. Some days you never forget – this is one of them.

Verona and Carmen at the open-air opera

... at the Citadella carpark which was a five minute walk from the Arena. Of course before we did anything else we had to get gelati and found an artisan gelataria called Pretto on the corner of the main circus as you approach the arena. We went to the ticket office and were able to buy tickets for Carmen on the stone steps at the back and we had packed our cushions from the outdoor furniture at the villa into a backpack to protect our backsides!! ...
