... we walked down to the Peggy Guggenheim Collection of Modern Art. Now I'm not a modern art fan, but it was a perfect antidote to all the renaissance art of Florence. A nice quiet oasis. We walked back a circuitous route to our hotel for a quick rest before heading back out to find a place for supper. We stopped at a place along the canal for dinner. I must say that after two weeks in Italy, this was my first disappointing meal. Plus, ...

... next to me, I was gripped with the sudden panic of establishing plane conversation. There's a delicate art to plane convos: you want to be polite, but also as bland as possible so that there is no expectation of maintaining conversation for the entire flight. We bought 2 day unlimited tickets and jumped on the water bus. Then we went the wrong way and we had to catch another water bus (vaporetto) to the same spot as the one we got off, before then we walked the right way and we went to ...

... feel, unsurprisingly as it is such a tragedy. After our sombre morning we headed to Venice, yay!! The trains are so clean and fast here. When we got to Venice we found our hotel which is in a great location. At the end of our street some kind of concert was being held so we could hear the music from that which was pretty cool. Right opposite the station is a terminal for water buses. As Venice is an island you don't see any cars, it's ...
