First thing we did today was go to the Rialto Bridge. It is an incredibly old structure. There are shops all the way up either side of the bridge including some fairly exclusive ones such as Chanel. We then headed off to the Piazza San Marco (St Marks's Square) (all squares in Venice - and there are plenty of them - are called 'Campo' except for St. Marks) and saw the outside of the Basilica Di San Marco. We also saw the Campanile Di San Marco (the bell tower) which stands in ...

... that they needed to be sure that they were not going to arrive. Seriously? We left Venice at 6pm yesterday and were spending today and tomorrow at sea. Where were they going to arrive from? I also said that I was extremly disappointed in the answers I was given yesterday and the lack of contact this morning. Full orchestras, ballet dancers on a stage, circuses full of clowns and animals. Pretty amazing ...

... a little too much time at the coliseum and not enough time at the Forum, but all in all it was a grand morning. We had lunch and hopped on the bus to head to Assisi.

As the bus cascaded through the rolling hills of Assisi, I knew I was in love. We arrived in Assisi in the late afternoon, where hills were painted with the glow of the setting sun. We toured the Saint Francis Cathedral, where the quaint city continued to seize my heart. Saint Francis was also a ...

Cloudy and overnight rain in Florence. Cloudy and light rain in Venice at first then clear blue sky from 1pm. 20C
Left on intercity train at 8:30. Very comfortable in reserved seats (leather) with refreshments after boarding and very smooth again. Going around corners is particularly good as we are on quite a lean. It was a two hour trip, leaving time for a nap and some video editing. It was interesting to see that a young guy sitting near us also had the 'Up' ...
