... there were no fishing boats anchored, it was a very quiet bay.We left the bay in the morning at 8 and sailed 5 miles to Lorient, what a busy waterway at this time in the morning we saw tankers, ferries, dark sinister rigid inflatables with what looked like French special troops practising alongside one of the most modern warships in the French navy. We also saw a man kite surfing and lots of yachts coming and going as Lorient has 3 different marinas, we decided to go to St ...

After a lazy start we slip the bout and gear over to feel up and go onto the quay to explore . A stroll around the town and try to hunt some wifi proved quite difficult hence the delay in posting the blog. Some quaint streets and novel ideas but nothing too lively just a boat graveyard. When we return to the boat the customs boys are nearby again but this time they leave us alone. Dinner a shore for Eric to have his mussels and frites before setting off next morning to ...

... before I could say Bon soir, vous avez des chocolate pour moi? Anyway half an hour later , they have called in and got clearance on our passports and searched the boat from top to bottom or so they thought! Good job we were not hiding anything illegal but they did miss the obvious bilge with rum and wine! Pictures say it all. Harbour very busy when we arrive so we pick up a bouy and settle down for that large glass of wine and ...

... us warm. At 11.30pm I went down to rest and David called me at 3.15am to swop so he could rest. The skies were just becoming light by 4am, by 5 ish we were well into the shipping lanes and at one point I counted 8 in a line coming across our bow and 1 behind us so I had to make sure I was awake and alert to leave David to sleep and rest. It was great to see our French flag up again after 2 months and ...
