... Starters was some sort of salami and Breton pate with cornichons. Then we had some fried rice with ham, peas, mushrooms and onions and green lettuce. More cheese and coffee washed down with more wine.The cous-cous baby still refuses to go away however.

Annie takes us back to the hotel at 11pm, completely podged and extremely mellowed.

... Concorde and the story of how the sound barrier was eventually broken. It was interesting but you really had to be keen on flying to enjoy it properly, so Lance was in his element.

After that we listened to a talk by Sue Holderness, who played Marlene in Only Fools and Horses, and she was very funny and it was great to see excerpts from her various television appearances on a big screen. She had a very attentive audience who laughed ...

... four times the size of the Belvedere, had an amazing international choice of cuisine. From Italian Pasta, Mexican Chilli and Indian curries, to American fare including burgers and hotdogs and a superb selection of salads, including the infamous "Light Toss".
The Belvedere has steak and kidney pudding, sausage and mash and fish and chips, plus a pathetic selection of limp salad. There is quiche (that's a bit exotic isn't it?), ...

... on ichorCoal there was a casualty and we were in media lockdown. I was shocked, horrified, because we did not know who it was. I had done my last training with the crew from this boat so had made a lot of friends here. I really cannot brlieve that this could have happened and feel so so sorry for the crew on this boat as they are currently motoring to Lisbon. We don't know what will happen next but we are all so sad and it has put everything into perspective. ...
