... could of passed the time by going up it but I have all on getting up the step into the camper at the min never mind a huge rock/cliff. We didn't want to hang around so with the weather looking like it was going to be glorious we decided to head to some lakes. Half way to the 35km long man made "Le Lac de Vouglans" the weather became foggy. Fortunately they didn't appear to be swim in lakes when we did arrive so we carried on some more. Way up in the mountains you would think you would feel isolated - not in France there are small villages ...

We have travelled just 9 Kms into Switzerland but far enough to see the cow bells, the cuckoo clocks and the Swiss chalets. Coming back to Chamonix we see amazing mountain scenery going through these villages. Later that day we go to La Houche and explore other areas around ...

... into Chamonix for dinner and found a lovely Italian restaurant with superb food and service at a very reasonable cost. Easily our best meal in France. Walking home, we stopped to watch the Arle River which has swollen very rapidly so it was almost flooding some restaurant verandas overhanging the water. The noise of the river was huge and it sent heaps of condensation up into the night air which looked surreal with the artificial ...
