Avenue du General de Gaulle Cap d'Ail, French Riviera - Cote d'Azur, Provence, France, 6320
ok, it was more "collecting a new country" than being really interested in Monaco. Strange, when you go there from Nice airport by bus it costs you 18 € one way, when you go from Nice bus terminal it costs 1 € one way. Monaco is a very clean city. I have never seen so many big and expensive cars. I saw the casino and the castle. Nice, but not spectacular.
Monaco, Monaco tilmanI know I always write the same...great weather, such a nice city, good food....but I have to say that Nice was a (very) big surprise for me, I can say that it is my favourite city in Europe (ok, number 2 after Lisbon). You have the mountains, the Cote dŽAzur (when you see the water you know why the name is Cote dŽAzur), the market with fresh vegetables, fruits, honey, oil, soap, you have great restaurants ...
Nice, Provence, France tilman... Not only have the donations received already far exceeded my expectations, but the kind words and general interest and support that I have received have been amazing. So thank you all. It is all very much appreciated and I can't believe that between us we really will change these little lives. It is my motto here in Antibes, but this is the ultimate "think globally; act locally ...
Antibes, Provence, France marianner... hand lounge chairs. Thus we have to be pretty organised - everything has a home and has to go back there as soon as you've finished with it. This also means that every takes a long time... so our alarm goes off at 6,30am. This gives us 30 min to awake from our sleepy haze then coffee and breakfast 1/2 hr. Then make the bed into table and chairs. Change into running gear and run round the current place of abode. Shower and dress... even if we did everything with military ...

Monaco is the world's second smallest country (after Vatican City) less than 2 square km, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in decadence! Streets are manicured, lavish hotels and casinos line the waterfront, and the harbour is chock a block with gigantic, plush boats.
Once we arrived we visited the Palais du Prince (or ...
... night, we were both incredibly relaxed and a little revitalized for Barcelona, which looks to be a lot of running around again.
We finished off our relaxing spa day with a walk to the pebbley beach, finished off with an interesting dinner at the hotel restaurant to celebrate 7 weeks of travel!!! The restaurant is on the top level of the hotel and has panoramic views of Nice, it was very pretty, lots of tiny glowing lights. We splashed out on an a la carte for Lewey (entree, main and ...
... m tired can we stop". As luck would have it , we ate out on a beach cafe the night before and when the boys finished they wanted to play on the beach, they made a friend there and we met and got along very well with the parents at who's home we ate last night. They are living the year in a magnificent apartment next to our hotel. We are planning to watch the Monaco vs Rome football (soccer) match with them on Saturday. Really lovely people ! !
Cap d'Ail, Provence, France jillflorant... from in two great locations. But, one (or two) can only mooch off family for so long... We tried to make the most of our last two days in Cap d'Ail - swimming at the beach, Plage Mala, right below our apartment twice and me begging Chad to make his famous (ok, only famous to me and my 5 new chins) asparagus risotto one last time. Surprisingly, the ...
Cap d'Ail, France gr8escape... the ocean in Cap d'Ail, France, smack in the middle of the French Riviera. We'd like to apologize for a lack of correspondence, both on travelblog updates and even personal e-mails. We have been without internet for 10 days. It would seem Italy is much more technologically advanced than the south of France. Or maybe the people that live or vacation here have people who check their email for them. Or they just don't care. It's also been a bit of a ...

Ouch. It was the best creme brulee I've ever had, though. The next night we were able to get a double together, and planned a little better for dinner.
