... ferry ride across a few of the popular villages such as Bellagio. We discovered why there was only 1 hostel in Lake Como, everyone is old and everything is expensive! So this wasn't a party place but still very beautiful to see. It had gotten too cold to go swimming so we just did some sight seeing and explored all of the cute back Italian streets. I was sick as a dog and it was freezing (so much for a European summer) so we did a lot of cafe hopping ...

... Last chance for photos. Strolled along the waterfront promenade. Again, breath-taking scenes. I have enjoyed the photography this trip. Deb decided that we NEED a gelato in Italy which is easier said than done. It is off season and we were right in the middle of the ritual siesta. We had to wait until 2:45 pm before any shops were open! How do they run a country?

After the gelato, we trudged back to the apartment. Packed ...

We had the obligatory coffee all round before the others drove off to their starting point. I wandered along the waterfront promenade. Again beautiful scenery. Abundant bird life and catch a couple of Italians taking their grandmother for a walk.

... luck in the small villages along the Fiume Adda. But after about 10 Km I saw a small garage that looked open so I stopped.
The guy didn't speak english but we managed with hand signals pointing and showing him that I wanted 10W40. I needed a new speedo cable as well, but he didn't have any for an old Japanese bike. Fair enough, I know roughly how fast I am going.

... of mountain in front of me getting closer and closer.... past the last cluster of houses. From now on there's just a random cabin here and there, half dug in to the mountainside with a fence to keep cows from getting on the roof--just like in the stories! And then I spot it: another waterfall, tumbling in stages down the rocky mountainside.
