      I've been to a lot of ski towns in the Alps over the past five years and I must say the ski town of Chamonix was by far the best I've been to. I'm afraid I can't say the same thing about ski pistes. There were four ''domaines skiables'' and we haven't had time to explore all of them. So we decided to ski in Brevent Flegere and Les Grands Montets ...

      ... had the time of his life. He is at one with this magnificent car.

      The St Bernard pass is very cold but stunning in its
      desolation. Lots and lots of motorbikes on the roads and all of them giving us
      the foot wave as we let them through on the tiny twisting road. We return to
      our chalet to shower and change, we have been invited next door for drinks. Louise and Jamie are the most fantastic

      ... our way between trolley buses and trams. We were told to watch out for taxis as they always go toward the airport but we do not see many taxis and trust our instincts and Mrs TomTom to find the international airport to pick up Ash.

      But dear little Bobba we think is going to be far too small to fit us and all our luggage. We have no trouble finding the International airport and Geneva is just another big noisy busy city. But we are so glad we came extra ...

      First full day at Chatel. It is so beautiful here. Easy start to the day with beautiful breakfast, and views of the alps. Headed up to the mountain for a skiing lesson at 11am with Fifi. Nice Frenchman who was very patient with us all. Hardest part to start with was the rope pulley getting us back to the top,of the beginners slope. We had a 2 hour lesson and the took the chair lift up to the (near) top of ...

      ... rail line on the lower slopes and also as a funicular on the steep inclines. From the 1600 metres where we were it went much further up the mountain to what we discovered is a restaurant which we guessed would be up at the 2500 metre mark. Apparently a train of some sort has been operating to the village since 1889 but it has been updated and the original track has been replaced. The steep angle of the track is an interesting feat of engineering ...
