Awoke today to our first grey day. Not so bad, we have had two and a half weeks of perfect weather. Left our very pleasant country hotel this morning in misty conditions. The hotel owners had a lovely big kelpie cross that wanted me to throw a stick for him this morning . Barcelonnette is nestled in the bottom of a valley and all routes out are up. There are several mountain passes in every direction but the forecast was not great and the only clear prediction was South East. Just as well that was the way I was going.
