... fallen after being told that all the boats were booked today and we couldn't have one. We booked one for Wednesday instead. So plan A had failed and was postponed. Mike undeterred from his requirement to board a boat decided that Plan B could be to board one of the ferries and visit Sirmione instead. ... and over the glacier right to the top - next time then! We got the 'yoghurt pot' back down and drove back to the campsite very ready for a rest, food and a little wine. As we sat outside looking up at the surrounding mountains we couldn't quite believe that in one day it was possible to go up and down two huge peaks...ski lifts are great! Dinner was Steak on the Cadac with potatoes, salad and bread. Dad was asleep in his chair by 8.30! ...

... letting the water run off very well, there was so much in such a short time it was forming puddles in dips in the roof. We did what we could to fix it and retreated to the luxury of the caravan to play Uno and congratulate ourselves on not being in a tent! As we peered out the window at other people who were tenting with a river in the middle of their tent we felt very smug with our dry caravan and a nice cup of tea. Until... ...
