Of couse St Peter's is beyond amazing, and our tour ended here. Patrick and I attended Mass in a side chapel. It had been a lovely morning weather - wise too, but was a bit rainy off and on in the afternoon as we headed to explore.

... for the Colosseum and the Palantine Hill, so that we could get all the goss, otherwise we would have just been looking at ancient rubble with no clue as to what was what. The guides were very entertaining and informative. It was very difficult to capture the enormity of it all in camera, so I took very few photos.
The afternoon was spent bumbling around Rome with no agenda.

After that (its been a long day) I went to the basilica di santa maria del angeli which has been the best thing I've seen so far.
