... Following our leisurely jaunt around pigeon island we noticed that we had developed a problem. Our main hallyard (the rope that pulls up the main sail and keeps it up) sheath was beginning to fray. ... the route was being repaired and so there were replacement mini vans. Que waiting for another hour for the next 'bus'. This one took us half way to the next major town where we would change buses to get to the rain forest. piece by piece we were putting together the transport network of the island.

... The lovely lady upon hearing that Mum was sick gave Dad our bananas for free. The locals were worried Mum might have caught one of the mosquito borne diseases. Dad assured them that she just had a nasty cold. Another local even told him how to get antibiotics without a trip to the doctor if he wanted!!
