    ... we caught a bus to Saint Raphael where we caught a cab to an address Joan e-mailed us that morning. We sat outside for a little while waiting for them to arrive in their BMW.     It's amazing. Like the French have just discovered television and are attempting to broadcast in the 2nd millenium without having learned anything in the 20th century. EVERY news person wears a lapel mic. (Some have 2 lmao!) Enough critiquing French TV, but let me say that the French TV awards would be the same as the Saudi Arabian Downhill Alpin Skiing awards show... an exercise in oxymorony. (is that a word?) ...
