Gorgeous morning and a stunning place for breakfast awaited us just outside Scooby overlooking the lake. I went for a run but Kim was feeling a little under the weather so she stayed and made me breakfast - yay! We spotted two girls about our age and attempted to engage in some conversation but their English was limited and French is rubbish. Shame as its manily been the grey hair brigade we ...
Grasse, Provence, France darrenhough74... then finally the hostel. yayyyy.
we ended up meeting 2 australian girls, and one girl, meng basically became our travel buddy for the trip. we spent our 2 days in tours mostly chilling at cafes drinking amazing cafe cremes, and looking at the ridiculously cute timbered houses of place plumerau. we also read trashy girl magazines in french and meng cooked us an amazing dinner. all in all tours was pretty fab.
So we booked a ...
... Europe, but I think I would kinda like having the quarter horse of Europe instead. Wouldn't you..?
After being through Florence and Rome, it is understandable that small cars are a big hit. Many of these are featured in the quiz below. City streets and even small town roads are so tight and thin that parking is nuts and spots are few. This requires small cars and creative techniques. I have featured a ...

Back to the senses: France smells good and tastes good too! Le Marches (the markets) occur everyday where fresh flowers, bread, fruits, vegetable and fish are sold daily. This is the way of life here; no supermarkets or walmart, just good fresh food, purchased daily.
The food here in France could be the best... the flavors and savors or french cuisine, rival all of our other meals in all of the countries we visited. Fresh food ...
Cannes is not as glamrous as we thought it would be, it still has all the fancy smancy stores along the beach, but there were definitely no red carpets rolled out when we were there. We did a day trip to St-Tropez, its was the end of a hge sailing competitiona and tons of ...
Cannes, Provence, France sofenjon... the road again.
We left Barça and headed straight for the border again, ending up in the small, picturesque seaside town of Port Vendres, where we spent 2 days lazing on the beach and getting used to being in the van again. Our stay there was marred only by the news from Oslo, where Scotland were getting un-ceremoniously pumped at the football. It did make me glad that I didnt insist on finding somewhere to watch it though.

... and the beach, we got a chance to explore the city a little. My favorite was the castle. Now mind you, the thing about 'The Castle' is that there is no longer a castle at all. Basically now it's just a really beautiful hill separating the town of Nice from Nice Harbor. Still, there are a few ruins, a park, and...a Jewish Cemetery. Kind of an odd mixture, but the whole thing was amazing. I love Nice!!
Nice, France maryberry... I took calls from my office in China. We trained from Nice to Vinimille then switched trains on to Savona. At Savona we will transfer again to Genova then head south to Roma. We plan to try to get a hotel outside of Rome an hour or two for a day or so and use as a base as we attack Italy by train. Yesterday in Andorra we ...
Nice, France tucker... into the room, which means that I'm greeted with a cranky scowl that makes me feel like a fifteen year old out past curfew. I feel uncomfortable in the same room with her, which means that the only time I can relax is when I'm on the bus. It's making me ****ing loony. Other than her, it's all good. We went out last night to a great little pub in the old city. Today is a driver-free day, so Paul, our driver, came out and got trashed with us. There were too many ...
