... bridge! then a ladder and one more bridge until I could step down to a giant rock. And all with a backpack on! Yikes, it was a bit exciting!

The scenery getting there was awesome, as was the scenery leaving and getting to our end town of Arolla. We saw a herd of Chamonix (deer like mammal) today which was cool. We also saw the famous Matterhorn ( mountain) for the first time. Woo hoo, it was a great day!

... breath)! Found a shady spot next to / under a big boulder and munched happily on our baguettes while looking out over the glacier.

Mitch then sped off on a run back down the trail with plans to continue along another stretch of the grand balcons hiking trails, while I made my way down slowly with back pack and walking poles. Mitch quite out of breath at the end of his run (lots of uphill at the end) – so both quite happy ...

... way to a ‘Intermarche Hyper’ on the way back to our accommodation, which we translated as ‘super huge supermarket’, and were very excited about what amazing range of food and goodies we might find there – only to pull into a huge empty parking lot and realised it was Sunday and they closed at 1230. Boo! Also wanted to order more scrummy breakfast items for the next day, only to get back to the accommodation to find reception closed at 1230 on Sunday ...
