... The location of Rochefort was ideal because of its location. It is inland a bit, but there is still access to it by the Charente river. At the mouth of the river, there are a few different islands that also aided in protecting it. Hermione was re-built using Oak. They had to find the materials
and actually used the very center of 4000 Oak trees that were between 150-200
years old. They used the core of the trees as this wood is very good quality.

On top of those two “events” to look forward to, my teacher in Courcon has an old assistant coming back from Australia to visit next week and she said she’d invite me over for a visit. As well as another teacher inviting me over to her house the Wednesday evening before our vacation in February, then I will go to school with her the Thursday morning.
