... I was crazy mad with the speed of the descent.

Not much else happening today, had a nice pasta lunch and may double up for dinner. Cleaned the bike it was filthy with all the rain we have had and watched a little TDF.

We are off at sparrows to drive to Le Bourg D'Oisans to spend the day in the region. I will climb the legendary l' Alpe with its 21 hairpins and the meet Mich at the Saturday markets in Le Bourg.

... was still cold and the cloud was very low. I was itching for a ride so decided to tackle some local Cols near us.

Right outside our doorstep is the road to the Col Du Telgraphe and the Galibier which tops out at a frightening 2645m. That's looking like my Sunday sparrows ride.

We visited the ski village of Valloire today just above (on the road) but below the top of the Telegraphe in elevation. I could see part of the Galibier from there. Its an intimidating looking climb.

Until tomorrow

... a special name for it? Ah, the French.

All tanked up with gazole we made our way and the first sign we saw was for Col de la Croix de Fer, another major climb on the Tour de France circuit. I was aware that this climb was in the area but unfortunately I was just not able to fit it into the plans. That said, nothing said we couldn't just drive on up. This Col is a long one at 28km long. It was mostly made up of 9-10% grades for the ...
