... about 1 hour on the boat. There is residential along the shoreline and half way up the mountain most of the way around the lake, the further we get away from Como although it begins to thin out and clear townships can be seen.
Menaggio is, like all the other towns, a holiday destination and at this time of year most of the places are closed. We find somewhere to have lunch and then spend the afternoon wandering through the alleyways ...

We arrived in this beautiful city at dusk so we weren't able to get the most out of it. Stayed there only for one hour and we spent that time in Parco Civico capturing the flickering lights of the city surrounded by mountains. The view from the shores of Lake Lugano was fascinating. It's truly a must-visit city and I'd love to go back and see it in broad daylight. ...

On Friday we were planning to go into an old town about an hours drive away which looked quite nice, but it was pouring rain all day so we decided not to. Driving around here is bad enough never mind with the rain! Instead we just went for a walk into the town and starting filling in some of the forms for uni and just had a relaxing day inside.

... 1 night but unfortunately we needed to get to our airport hotel in Milan so we could fly to Croatia the following day. So we had to get the ferry back to Como station. The ferry took 2 hours and we went past George Clooney's house! Once we arrived at the station, once again Italian trains confused us and I'm pretty sure we had the wrong ticket but thankfully we didn't get caught! We finally arrived at our strange airport hotel. ... luck in the small villages along the Fiume Adda. But after about 10 Km I saw a small garage that looked open so I stopped.
The guy didn't speak english but we managed with hand signals pointing and showing him that I wanted 10W40. I needed a new speedo cable as well, but he didn't have any for an old Japanese bike. Fair enough, I know roughly how fast I am going.
