... which was super cool - built in 1953 for Brussel's world fair. They looked at the Eiffel Tower for inspiration - ( it was also a world fair building)- the result was very different - see photos.

We are in Switzerland this weekend - hotwire hotel website had a deal for us at a lakeside place called Laguna. It is 20 mins away from lake Como. Walked around the lake to get to dinner - looks very cool.... Off to Venice today ( Sunday) for three ...

... frigid lake for my daily ceremonial swim. Finally, a bit further, the gorge opens up a bit, and there are big patches of grass interrupting the endless forest. We get to talking and it's clear that his mind is not ...

Day 274 1 hr, 1 km With the steep, wooded mountainside to my left and a valley that is quickly narrowing to my right it's only a few hundred meters and I'm in the next town, Messe. I know that the uphill climb is getting close, including my big goal: to cross the Splugenpass from Italy to Switzerland on foot. I know it was just planted here for the warm months, but seeing a banana tree in someone's yard just feels really unappropriate. C'mon folks, this is the ...
