... as the police move through the city. After taking the obligatory photos of St Mark's Square, we wandered down to the harbour and suddenly I recognised the place from somewhere. Yes, that building over to the right, and those foot bridges over the to left, and the island in front of us. But how? I'd obviously never been to Venice before. Then it struck me, I HAVE been to Venice before - in the computer game Assassin's Creed! Bizarre that I'd recognise a real place ...

... it purple. Unfortunately it is inland so you can’t see it from the sea anyway!!

These brilliant colours have become so iconic over the years that residents are now required to get approval from the commune before painting their houses to ensure the tradition continues. I wonder if the council know about the purple house and if they didn’t, would they make the owner change it back to the way it was!!

Today we were up early and few people had sore heads after the pool party last night. We caught the campsite bus, the campsite is called camping jolly and it's outside of Venice but its a really cool place and I would recommend it for staying near Venice as staying on Venice is a bit tricky with having to put your bags on boats etc. so we caught the bus and then the people mover to Venice.
