A travel blog entry by marcohj on Jul 10, 2014

We woke up pretty early today as we had to get the bus to La Spezia at 8:07. We all did some last minute packing, checked out and got on the bus. It was a shortish ride but the bus dropped us a good ten minute walk from the station, so we frantically oriented ourselves and got going. We stopped briefly for a pastry each on the way and ended up making it to the station in good time. We arrived at Annelie and Jan's in the early afternoon to enjoy ...

... We went to a museum on the history of perfume down the ages. For a
male in holiday mode it was a case of information overload!

Lunch – some more genuine French salad – was taken in a
little cafe near a labyrinth of narrow streets we had explored. It included a
desert for Euro 12.50.

The afternoon was taken up with heading back to the coast
and Cannes, where we ran into a traffic jam ...

... to grab me and make me sit down. SIT! She says it's so funny because I sit there and grind my teeth. Next day, up and away early to The Vatican City. Christina again...great fun. Huge queues....but we went straight in. The garden was beautiful, paintings and tapestries just wonderful. Then into The Sistine Chapel. Wow! Amazing to see it in person. I got a very, very cricked neck. hard to actually believe I was actually there so wanted to take ...
