This is an amazing roman aqueduct which has had very little by way if reconstruction. It's one of the best examples remaining in France. It crosses the Rhone river which was broad and quite fast flowing, sore it was ...

... basin at Agde which was like a a junction where boats were coming from different directions into and out of the basin which was like a huge lock. Before we got there we had to pass a boat graveyard where sunken hulks were submerged but with the topside still visible. This was not just one but many boats. Not sure what the motive was to leave them there in the first place or why they were allowed to just lie there in a state if ruin. Certainly a huge eyesore.
