Intrigued we asked him how he got first got into sailing and where he got his experience from. He told us he had sailed little skiffs when he was young but never really had experience on a yacht. He thought it would be fun to buy a yacht in Florida and learn to sail it around the Bahamas. He bought one for $15,000 and advertised for an experienced sailor to join him (and received hundreds of replies ...

... we will manage to upload pics soon - I want you guys to see the beautiful sites we have been too as well as the fun stuff we have photographed... however sometimes having others take pics of us has been an adventure in itself... hand gestures asking to turn the camera around - failed, and alot of people always seem to cut out the important details of monuments.... I guess the locals are sick and tired of people asking them to take pics...

I left Paris on September 14 on a train to Avignon. As I was entering my car on the train, there was a little commotion with a man trying to find space for his luggage. I quickly realized this was Peter Asai and his wife, Karen (friends from my previous life in Eugene) who I hadnīt seen in many, many years. Life is funny and sweet and....como un sueņo! My friend, Sherry, who ...

The captain wanted to get to Marseille before the approaching storm hit us and before the wind whipped up too many waves. No one was allowed to go on deck with the weather the way it was, except for the crew who were required to wear a life jacket, and a Man Over Board sensor and beacon. There are two sets of ...
... a few days and managed also to fit in a 24 hour round trip to visit his aunt and uncle in Lyon who live in the cuds and have a fabulous house with outdoor jacuzzi. Jean flew back to Luton on Tuesday morning and I set off by train to Merens-Les-Vals which seemed to be the easiest access point back onto the GR10 given the time remaining. For those of you who don't know, I start University on the 21st September and we have also decided to move ...
Arles-Sur-Tech, Languedoc-Roussillon, France asummersday... day slipped away. Never did find the bus timetable, but we got to the seafront at about 1.30 and installed ourselves in a restaurant ovelooking the beach, where a sweet waitress told us our French was very good (you can rely on me to sort out all the food and drink words in any language). I had an enormous seafood salad and couldn't walk it off even after a couple of hours. We both love this place. The temptation to look in estate agents windows ...
