... the instructions were 'pitch where you want' so we checked the compass and pitched facing South in reach of an electric hook up amongst what are clearly transitees either heading home or away. As I make this entry there are units moving off on their travels.

... what is left will be preserved. However, there are signs to warn you not to visit on windy or wet days as great lumps of rock simply drop off and some are huge. There is a very large church at the base of the elevated castle and the inside does not match the out and is quite beautiful, we assume most of this splendour was paid for out of the tolls over the centuries. ... Phil got back with Tess, the monster motor home behind us opened its back hatch to put their car away! This wasn't a motor home it was as big as a big coach with a garage. It had a winch inside to pull the car up the ramps and within mins they were off. It was only a short drive to Gruissan where the aire is huge, it can take up to 80 vans, although not that many this time of year. We are parked up about 100ft from the sea but its ...

... he should have had his glasses on!!! We sat and had our lunch by the patonque pitch over looking the water. Apparently the salt tolerant algae turns pink when the sun and wind are in the right direction. The salt was extracted from 1519 but has now fallen into decay and has been taken over by wild life, not just flamingos but storks and egrets too. Blue sky again, which does lift the sprits and we are off to find the sun and more warmth. We take it nice and gently, but as you can see we couldn't do it any other way, we let Pierre choose the appropriate gears, he is clever. Our altitude is 1600 metres above sea level and the sea is where we are heading.
