... to stop at the middle pick up point making us arrive in Nice around 3pm ahead of schedule. The French people in Nice are friendly & bubbly. The lady at the hotel almost sings Madame & monsieur. Must be something to do with living near the sea, more laid back. Nice is full of tall Tuscan style apartment blocks. Lots of shops & restaurants & of course the beach. The French Rivera. Beautiful Mediterranean Sea. They don't have sand it's piles of pebbles & ...

It was only about an hour to Marseilles. We had an hour to wait for our train to Nice so went to McDs for lunch and ...

Yesterday when we arrived in Nice, we found our next apartment and the kids were excited that there is a big park right across the street. We decided to head to the beach first, though, which can be seen about 5 blocks away outside our window. My mom had told me the beach here is pebble and not sand, and I wasn't sure what to expect. The kids and I really like it; it's all rounded rock of varying sizes but nice underfoot and fun to pick through. There are some really pretty rocks ...

The hostel continues to be awesome so the diary entries are becoming sparse. Insane breakfast and then just bummed around Nice. Spent time on the rocky beach and did my first load of laundry since Greece. Out again at night thought it would quieter, it wasn't. Same funny bar, wanes. Same set from the band but had a good time again. ...
