... to do the guest order. Eight days before they were due to arrive we were informed they would be here in two. Talk about stressful! We had to do the crew and guest provision in one day. A few days out we decide to move up to Grand Case to try and avoid the swell that is passing through Marigot Bay. A visit to Calmos bar shows what the weather has been like, as their whole sun terrace is now just a tricky beach after the seas washed all the sand away, at least 2 meters gone! ... a lot of shops and restaurants lining the pier. We wandered outside the closed in pier area to see more and were shocked at what appeared a poor quality of living. Although right behind the pristine dock area and expensive yachts appeared poverty stricken homes, the people we saw and talked to appeared to be in good spirits. ... ship marina to our resort all along Great Bay. It has the largest collection of jewellry shops i have ever seen including a Tiffanys. Target market is the peeps from the cruise ships. Fortunately the cruise ships head out every evening between 1600 and 1800hrs and we have the town to ourselves. ... a little tense in certain areas but never had any trouble while we were off the property. However, we did have a run in with thieves on the property. This particular band of thieves disguised themselves as blackjack dealers at the Westin casino and cleverly kept stealing our cash one hand at a time. So, as it turns out, this island is quite expensive, so it may be a good thing that we are on our way home.
