... some pain, the first pain aux raisins of the tour and some tea. It was so hot on the terrace, such a contrast from our previous descent.

We reached our stop for the night, La Maison de Joséphine, by about 1:30pm. Unfortunately it was a 10 minute climb up from Guillestre, one which we repeated sans panniers when we went to search for a restaurant. ... a right turn onto the D83 and a final 8 km ascent of the day to Aussois. I've come to the conclusion that ascents at the end of the day's riding are a really bad idea.

By this time the weather had turned showery, which meant trying to keep dry and cool at the same time while continuing uphill. I opted for cool, and didn't put my jacket on and so got a soaking and chilled again as we arrived into Aussois.
