... which draws water from 27m from the lake for the local drinking water, as well as numerous villages surrounding the lake. Little harbours were dotted with speed boats, with the sail club on the west coast. The eastern side was dominated by wonderful chateaus of the rich of France, along with a chateau or two all surrounded by mountains and forests. The important reeds, breading grounds for fish and bird life, were located on the ...

St-Jean is a great town, popular with bikers and cyclists as it sits in the heart of Vacours Region. Aire sits behind town on the river Lyonne. A little tired but spacious and good Custom services. We left Challes and drove just 30 km to La Cheylas. Reasonable aire, but noisy. Trains about half a mile away across a field and right next to a busy road. We only stayed for a night. Now we are at a campsite right on a lake. To get to it, we have come through ...

... when everyone starts streaming their video.
It's a national holiday, today, Thursday and most shops closed so we had a barbie with our iron rations from freezer.
At Reception, we met a Canadian couple, Brenda & Alan from Halifax N.S. who seem to travel round Europe each year and will do it more once retired. They said it was quicker & cheaper for them to come to Europe than go to Vancouver! They have also been to NZ, OZ, UK, Sweden, Germany, CZ, Pl, IE etc etc so ...
