But it’s all an experience, doing car repairs en franšais. I’m amazed really, that at half past four on a Friday afternoon a) anyone is up for doing any work, and b) they can whip the wheel off, and the tyre, and fix a puncture, all within about 15 minutes.

... all up the Maurienne valley has been cloudy and rainy – and snowy higher up – all day. Generally grim in other words. Here is actually sunny, albeit a bit chilly.

The other thing is I have just had a cappuccino in Italy. There was no chocolate powder on top. Just frothy milky coffee. I have no idea if that’s an authentic cappuccino or not, but it tasted good.

... and cliffs emerging from the mist. It was a different perspective to Mount Titlis, but just as breathtaking and beautiful. A lift took you to the very top, for panoramic views of Mount Blanc at around 4km high. The sheer enormity of the area was inspired, and sometimes a test for the nerves.
