... of the villagers. A market was in progress, fish, meat and plenty of veges. Strangely there were two permanent butcher shops within 25 m of the market which also had a butcher. The vegetable stalls had some strange looking veges for sale. We noticed in these small towns shops specialising in goods such as cellphones, jewellery and toy shops for very small populations. Perhaps they are subsidised?

... or in our terms maintained by the County Council.
Needless to say, even the boneheads at Garmin can't differentiate the standard of one D road to another, neither can I. It could be brilliant or a complete patchwork quilt, it's a lottery.

The day was dull and overcast but dry.

Me and Will set off, bright and early, about 12.30pm, grabbed an N road out of Nantes and then hit the D roads.
Absolutely brilliant but we had some mileage to do.....

Day 4.  Only done 280 miles.  Lol.  At this rate we'll only reach Bordeaux by the end of our hols.  Best get our foot down.  Trouble is.. We're so laid back and every where is so nice.    14.40 hrs arrived at our hotel in the city of Nantes. What a rush everything feels after being in the countryside. Parked car, Dropped bags off....lets go explore. Not our favourite city. Best ...

... situations so you pay the money and drive away happy you haven't had to wait two weeks for the parts. We found a campground close to the city of Nantes and the girl that booked us in was soooooo helpful. I now have an ACSI card which turned the 25 Euro charge for the campground into 15 Euro so that will be handy. She gave us maps and books and rubbish bags and I came outside from booking in with a big smile ...
